Taking the Anxiety Out of Podcasting

Aug 9, 2016

The launch of a new product always brings with it anxiety — just as you’ll experience when doing your first podcast or broadcast show. We’re equally anxious and excited about the interest, engagement and feedback we’ve had now that the Advisors Prep tool has gone “live.” (We’re still pretty anxious about it all too!)

We see ourselves as a partner to the advisor, an asset, and as a result, we understand there are going to be more questions about “how to” once you begin with the service. “How do I do the podcast in the first place?” “What am I going to need from a technical standpoint?” “How does my podcast get posted onto my website?”

Let me answer a few of those questions straight up as I don’t want anything to slow down the opportunity for you to market yourself and begin sharing your unique delivery of the content we’re providing.

First, the only thing you really need to get started is your computer or mobile phone. Most have the capability to record and playback audio. Simply Google “how to…podcast” and you’ll find a plethora of ways to get your voice to the digital realm. Once you’ve got yourself recorded, usually as an MP3 file or .wav file, you’re ready to post and share your ‘cast. Most contemporary websites have the ability to post audio very simply, and from there it’s as easy as linking to your site. You can then send it to your database, or you can actually send the audio (along with the white papers!) via email.

We’ll discuss ways to best deliver your content in future blogs and “tips,” but for now we’re as excited about you getting your first podcast out as we are excited about being part of your process to make it happen.

Our highest priority is to provide you with a seamless process for getting the tool in play, giving you the opportunity to spend more time working with your clients. We expect questions and some challenges but most importantly we’re here to help.

Please don’t hesitate to email us with questions. We’re looking forward to building a relationship that allows you to take full advantage of all the tools we provide. We want to be part of your team. Feel free to share your podcasts with us as well! We would love to hear about what you’re doing!
